The long and short of it....
After all the dire weather forecasts, Saturday morning turned out to be far more pleasant than we were expecting. We took the decision early to run with our contingency course, and, whilst it was disappointing not to be in the surf, we hope you enjoyed the different format this year.
Torri Callan and Marc Pasques had a cat and mouse race; Torri was three minutes faster after the ski leg, but Marc made up that time in the pool, Torri was marginally quicker on the board, and managed to just hold onto his lead through the run, crossing the finish line only 8 seconds in front of Marc to take out overall honours.
Amy Teale was dominant in the females finishing with a comfortable six minute margin in front of Isabella Kristensen.
In the teams, the aptly named ‘the Gonnas’ had already got up and went and were non-starters, leaving twelve teams and a bit of rivalry between Manly, Mona Vale and Warriewood. Manly came in first with their female and mixed teams, while the Mona Vale Guys lead the way home for the male teams.
Full results are now available on the website, and we hope to have some pictures from this year up there soon too.
Thank you to all of you for participating, and a special acknowledgment to those who made the effort to travel not just across Spit Bridge but also the Harbour Bridge.
Finally, these events cannot happen without the support of sponsors and we thank the Dee Why RSL, who are great supporters of Narrabeen Beach SLSC, for their generous sponsorship.
